Today we had this really beautiful man with crazy hair and a colorful half sleeve tattoo. On the second one down, I went a little too far with the color. So I cheated in photoshop, (I usually leave them as is besides adjusting the contrast and color cast) and I brought the color way down. Of course as usual, the one I like best is the 4th one down…the one I rushed to get done before the session ended.

I tried to plan ahead for the best situation on these. Trying to choose the angle that suits the subject and some sort of composition. And the lighting. And then I finished that and moved to another side of the room where I thought the angle was totally impossible. And I got a much better piece out of it.

I really like the way this one turned out. It was the second of the day, the first being pretty terrible, looking like I was out of practice. Which is pretty much the truth.

Yep. It has been a year+ since I posted about my first sketchbook… the point being to put something on the page each day. I should have finished several since then.
